John Thornburgh has been a partner with Caldwell, Carlson, Elliott & DeLoach since 2017. Prior to that John practiced, in Atlanta, with Wagner, Johnston & Rosenthal, P.C., beginning in 1987 and serving for several years as its general manager and president.
John has over thirty years of experience representing business owners, real estate developers, and lenders in transactional matters ranging from small transactions among closely held business owners to transactions exceeding one hundred million dollars. He has represented hundreds of entrepreneurs, real estate developers and other closely held business owners. Over the course of his career, John has gained a broad understanding of the requirements that exist for his clients in an array of industries, including manufacturing, professional services, hospitality, technology, and real estate.
John began his undergraduate education at Kennesaw College (now Kennesaw State University) and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1984. He graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1987.
John was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and as a child lived in several cities in the Southeast. He has resided in metropolitan Atlanta since 1969 and currently lives in Kennesaw with his wife, Karen and children Katherine and Paul.
