Lauren Miller is a non-equity partner with Caldwell, Carlson, Elliott & DeLoach focusing her practice on trust, estate, fiduciary, and business litigation. Lauren prides herself on her dedication and responsiveness to her clients, creative approach to legal issues, and thorough case preparation.
Lauren has been instrumental in obtaining several noteworthy trial court and appellate decisions for the firm. Only four months after joining the firm in 2016, Lauren served as lead counsel in a wrongful death case brought in the Superior Court of Talbot County and received a $1.6 million jury verdict for the firm’s client, an accomplishment not shared by many lawyers at such an early stage of their careers. More recently, Lauren presented oral argument in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia that resulted in summary judgment for the firm’s client on all claims in a complex corporate ownership dispute. Lauren also obtained summary judgment in favor of the firm’s clients in a will contest challenging the disposition of an approximately $2.1 million estate, a ruling affirmed by the Court of Appeals of Georgia. Lauren has also appeared as counsel on behalf of the firm’s clients in the Supreme Court of Georgia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
In 2011, Lauren received her bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. In 2014, she obtained her J.D., magna cum laude, from Mercer University School of Law in Macon, Georgia, graduating in the top 5% of her class. During law school, Lauren served as the Managing Editor of the Mercer Law Review. In 2023, Lauren taught advanced legal writing as an adjunct professor of law at Mercer University.
Raised in Asheville, North Carolina, Lauren moved to Atlanta in 2014 and currently lives in the Doraville area of Atlanta. She enjoys hiking in the north Georgia mountains, cooking, photography, and travel.
